One MHRD IPR Chair (Technical) has recently (in February 2014) become operative at Delhi University and is located at the newly established Cluster Innovation Centre.
Dr Rekha Chaturvedi joined DU on 20th February as the IPR Chair Professor (Technical).
Dr. Rekha Chaturvedi, a Scientist by training, is an experienced professional in the field of Intellectual Property Management with 14 years of IP and 30 years R&D experience. Dr Chaturvedi earned her doctorate from University of Oslo, Norway.
Dr Chaturvedi has under taken extensive training in IPR issues in India and abroad. Besides intensive training programs organized by CSIR, DST and DBT, CII and FICCI, she has undergone internships at NIH, USA, AOTS and JPO (Japan).
She has put in 24 years of service with CSIR (Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, and National Botanical Research Institute) as Chief Scientist, Head of IPR and Planning cells and established and managed a vibrant IPR cell.
She is a well-experienced professional in IP protection and its Management. She is well versed with various aspects of Intellectual Property Protection and its Management. At CSIR-IGIB she was responsible for these tasks. During her career with CSIR-IGIB, she has authored several research and review articles and guided several PhD and Master’s students for their theses work and trained many students in IPR who interned under her guidance.
She has delivered talks in many workshops and training programs on patenting, ethics, and research planning and other IPR and WTO issues. She is also a registered Patent Agent with the Indian Patent Office and has long experience of handling Biotech, Pharma and New Chemical entity patents. She is also experienced in copyright, trademark and design registrations. Her key skills are imparting IP education, Planning & Policy, IP management including IP analysis and IP licensing.
Dr Chaturvedi joined the University of Delhi in February 2014 as MHRD IPR Chair Professor (Technical). She has reactivated the IPR Cell at Delhi University and is helping in diverse matters such as creating IPR awareness among students and faculty, IP education, IP protection, IP Policy formulation, Anti-Plagiarism policy issues etc.
